The Girl's appointment yesterday was to get some final shots for the interview she has on Wednesday. So, she and the photographers met down at the Capitol Mall for some quick pictures.
It was C-O-L-D but sunny and beautiful. I love the cherry trees in the Spring. It's like pink snow. I actually saw a lady lying on the ground trying to make a "snow" angel in the petals. Weirdo.
Notice how bundled the photogrpahers are and The Girl is wearing a tank dress. My fingers were numb.
This isn't a very good angle, but the Golden Pioneer was out. He looks so nice when the sun shines on him. But since I'm the photographer in this particular photo, he's just a man on top of a building.
When I was in grade school, we had a penny drive to raise money to re-plate the Golden Pioneer because he wasn't looking so hot. It must take a boat-load of pennies to re-plate a guy in 23 karat gold because they didn't end up doing the job until 1983. They re-plated him again in 2000.

Welcome to the Challenge. My wife and I enjoyed the Blossoms a week ago. We had a blast. Good Luck with the Challenge.
ReplyDeleteHello Jen,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! I think this is my new favorite blog! I will definitely be back to see what you dream up for the other letters, and to read more of your lovely writing and see photos.
I am doing the A to Z Challenge as well. Take a peek at my blog too if you get a chance!
Best,
MOV
Love the photos of the blossoms :) I'm living near DC so I had the chance to check out the cherry blossoms over here last weekend, but blossoms are my favorite types of flowers (well, and sunflowers :P) so it's always nice to see them blooming in different places during the spring!
ReplyDeleteOh DC has so many more cherry trees than we do. We were there one spring and it was so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAnd MOV...Favorite Blog?! I'm flattered. Thank You!
