I'm trying to convince my Dad to write a blog. He posts all kinds of interesting things on Facebook and he only has about 8 friends. He had more, but he keeps un-friending them because they will post political comments or inappropriate pictures. That's how our son got cut. Inappropriate pictures. I don't think he knows he's been cut.
I "like" everything he posts so he'll stay friends with me.
I was at my parents' place last week for a night and he was telling me how my nephews have been asking him questions about his life and he was considering writing things down. I suggested a book called A Grandparent's Book, which has a bunch of questions and you can answer as many or as few as you like. I sent one to my Grandma once and I love reading it.
Yesterday I thought about him writing about his life and combining that with a blog. I was trying to just explain the concept to him yesterday and he wasn't getting it. I tried to get him to find some blogs he likes and read them. Then he told me Google Reader is going away and I'm not sure what I'm going to do without Google Reader because I already barely have time to read the blogs I like, let alone go to each individual website and read them. So, he knew about Google Reader, but not about how to find and read blogs. He's an Enigma.
Yesterday, I was going through Brown Eyed Man's camera and found these pictures:
This had to be from last summer. He actually took a picture of The Girl's cat, Sweaty Kitty. This is odd to me in a million ways. What was he doing when he saw her? Did he have the camera in his hand or go back into the house and get it? If you consider that 99.9% of the rest of his pictures are of machining equipment and things he has built, this is very odd.
A picture of my Father-in-Law and me. This was back in January or February when we went to a pro-gun rally at the State Capital. My Father-in-law has a knack for great head wear. I can't tell if that thing is knit or cloth, or what. Usually it's something in a shade of fluorescent, or it's sitting atop his head like it fell on there, or it was made in 1952. It's one of the things I love about him.
