What The Cuss?

Saturday our very best friends left for the Tri-Cities for a funeral.  Girl was house and dog-sitting, but decided to go to Eugene with her Dad for the day.  So, I decided I could use a little dog companionship and invited Little Miss Sasha over to our house.

This poor girl never knows what to do over here.  She's allowed on the furniture at home, but Brown-eyed Man forbids it at our house.  She doesn't know what do to, where to be, how to relax.  She clicks around on the floor behind me wherever I go.

I was working on a sewing project at the kitchen counter all day so she stood, laid and sat about 4 inches from me for most of the day.  At one point, I realized I hadn't heard or seen her for a while and turned to find this:

OMG!  You know that sound when a record needle screeches across a record?  Of course you don't because no one plays records anymore.  Anyway, that's the sound that went through my head.  Not only did Sasha completely mess up Daisy's U of O blanket, but SHE IS LYING ON DAISY'S BED!   This is hallowed ground!  This is a shrine to my beautiful black dog! No one messes with the U of O blanket, especially when we're 7-0!  As I mentioned in a previous post, Daisy has been gone since July 26th and I haven't been able to move that bed.  The most I do is occasionally go smell her blanket.  Weird, I know.  I don't care.   It still smells like her and I like how she smelled (most of the time).  Do you see how she has thrown Daisy's toys off the bed?!  What the...?

So I stood there for about a minute just looking.  Thinking.  Trying not to cry.  Crying. Then I decided it was probably okay.  Daisy most likely would not have approved but Daisy is gone.  Sasha was just looking for a comfortable place to be and I just have to get over it.  Maybe Sasha misses Daisy too.  Or maybe she felt triumphant lying on that bed.  She always barked at Daisy trying to tell her that she wasn't as great and everyone thought she was.  Daisy ignored her because she was as great as everyone thought she was.
