Haven't been feeling it.

You ever get a little behind and then you feel like you don't want to start getting caught up just yet and then it snowballs and you feel like "oh crap I really don't want to do that thing now" and then you just put it off even longer?  Well, that's what I feel like I've been doing with this blog.

As mentioned in previous posts, my work schedule and location have changed quite a bit over the past two months and my travel schedule and work load have not changed.  That combination has caused me to have about 2-4 hours less every day to get things done.

So, I'll fill you in as best as I can.  I went to the beach a few weeks ago for a two day conference.  It was nice to wake up and be able to walk on the beach every morning.  The weather was good for the Oregon coast.  If you haven't been here, it's not exactly a place to get a tan. This Henry Weinhard's commercial pretty well sums it up:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JU-_Sn2cDwI
Have you heard about the tsunami debris washing up on the west coast?  I saw this shovel and wondered whether it belonged to a Japanese person.  Then I wondered it someone was clam digging and just quit.
In my entire life, I have never found a whole sand dollar.  On one of my early morning walks, I finally found one.  Just my luck, it was still alive.  I threw it back in.  Good karma for the day.

After the meetings and speeches, a few of us wandered down the promenade at Seaside.  There is a huge bronze statue of Lewis and Clark and Capt. Lewis' dog Seaman:
He was a Newfoundland and Lewis purchased him for $ 20.  The only dog to make the entire trip with the Corps of Discovery (they ate 263 dogs along the trip).  He had surgery along the trip due to a beaver bite and he was even stolen by some Indians and recovered.  His bronze nose is shiny from all of the hands who touch him.

In the evening, we had a dinner on the beach.  Doesn't this look lovely?  Seriously, it was a really nice night on the beach.  We had a delicious supper served by the owner of the resort and they later built us a bonfire.  I don't know what they were burning, but you couldn't get within 3 feet of that fire without being scorched.  A few of us braved the heat for a smore.

On my way in to work the next morning, I saw the best sun.  This picture doesn't do it justice.  Plus, it was taken out my car window while I was looking at the road.
