The Girl is 20

Good Heavens, where has the time gone?  The Girl turned 20 yesterday and I've been reflecting on the little redhead I met when Brown Eyed man and I started seeing each other and the daughter I have now.

She is a goof-ball.  She is such a hard worker.  She's a good student.  She has a good heart.  She has strong morals.  She tries to do right by everyone.  She's just great.

Gramma and Papa came up for supper.  By The Girl's request, I made Mexican Stuffed Shells from The Way to His Heart... with build-your-own Southwestern Salad and Pecan Pie Caramel Cheesecake from Tasty Kitchen.  Both were good, but I think I overcooked the cheesecake.  It was too dense.  It took forever for a knife to come out clean when it was baking and I think I just should have taken it out earlier.  Anyhoo, they were both a hit.

Don't you love the beautiful view out our back windows?  I love to sit on the sofa and look out at the...fifth wheel.  I used to have a back yard.  Long story.

I got up early yesterday.  What am I saying?  I get up early every day.  I got up a tad earlier yesterday so I could put some flowers in The Girl's bathroom and put out her presents and Clover was following me around with this antler in her mouth.

This picture cracked me up ALL DAY LONG. It looks like she has one giant fang.  I'm easily entertained I guess.  I still makes me smile.

In other news:
1. I am down 34 pounds.  Geez, I've hovered around 30 for a long dang time.  Summer was not easy.  I think I'm back on track now.

2. Still working out of a job shack in Portland.  It's foggy this morning.  We have one guy up here who has a euphemism for everything.  I'm going to start writing them down.  Yesterday I was wearing a new safety sweatshirt.  You know, bright orange with reflective stripes?  I washed it about 45 times before I wore it and it will not fade.  So this guys says something about my "find me, f*** me sweatshirt".  What?  "That's not what it said on the tag" I said.

3. I get to see my two favorite little boys today.  I probably need to stop calling at least one of them "little" because he's (a) 12; and (b) 5'7".  The littler one is going to be playing football.  I can't wait.

4. That means I'm driving to Pendleton this afternoon.  I need to be back here for a meeting on Thursday morning and I want to go home tomorrow and I need to be at a jobsite in Longview some night this week.  I'm not quite sure how I'm going to accomplish all of that so I'll just take it day by day.
