Words I don't like, Volume 1

You know how just about every woman hates the c-word?  I'm not a fan of it either, but being on a job site full time I've come to learn it can be used in many different forms with none of them relating to a woman's reproductive system.  One guy from New Zealand told me that it means something completely different there.  I haven't looked it up to verify.

In no particular order, I will give you a few of the words I just don't like:

1. Playdate  Why does this bother me?  No idea.  Probably the same reason I get the letters R, S, and T mixed up with the numbers 5 and 6.  Something is mixed up in my brain.  Clover had a doggy playdate the other day and there probably isn't a better word to describe it, but I just don't like the word.

Treats?

Clover Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez Carter and I hadn't been to the river for a few months and Sunday was a beautiful day and I decided to invite Clover's best dog buddy, Mya, to come along.  We were the only people down there and the dogs could run and play like mad.
Someone built a few benches down there and I laid on a bench in the sun while they ran and ran and ran.  Clover, of course, swam like crazy.  Mya doesn't care for the water as much as a retriever should, but she got in up to her belly.
Afterward, I gave them baths and took 752 pictures of them and then we all napped.

2. Ginger  This word, when used to describe a red-headed person, its like fingernails on a chalk board.  Its just not right.  Again, I don't know why.  They are red-heads.  Where did this word even come from?  Brown eyed man thinks it may have something to do with Ginger on Gilligan's Island.  Whatever.  It's stupid.

3. Puss As in "sour-puss".  Just thinking the word conjures up bad feelings.  The thing is, I can't even come up with other words to describe what these words conjure up.  It's weird, I know.

I can't possibly be the only one who things this way.  But, since I don't want to be ALL negative today, I will leave you with something I love:  Fall.

Last night, on my way home, I saw the brown, yellow, and red leaves falling as the wind blew.  This morning the wind is just howling and it's COLD outside but it's so sunny and beautiful.  This is 100% my favorite time of year.

Happy Wednesday
