1. These Happy Hippos are making me a Happy Hippo. I never knew there was such a thing. Our intern doles them out one at a time maybe once a week. I'm getting the shakes thinking about my next hippo.
I might also mention that my favorite Kut from the Kloth jeans are wearing out. Too many hippos? They are my go-to jeans because I love the way they fit, but it appears that I've gone to them too many times. I just ordered an identical pair and I'm hoping they get here before we leave for Vegas on Monday.
2. I have a new webpage addiction and it's called www.SalemOregonMugshots.Com Part of me wishes that I knew some of these people and most of me is glad that I don't. I look at each face and wonder what the heck happened? What were you thinking when you woke up this morning and which decision(s) led you to this mugshot?
3. Why is it so hard to take a picture of a sunset while driving on the highway at night? The Brown Eyed Man was asleep and I couldn't wake him to take this so it's a little blurry. I can only multi-task so much. Looks like late summer but instead it's January 8th. Crazy.

That really is a most beautiful sunset! I wish summer were here.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of those brand of jeans.
You are going to Vegas? We are talking about going next month for our anniversary. Can you give me ideas where you like to stay and what to do (we don't really gamble) or is this your first trip there?
You know what I'm really bad at? Reading comments. That's because you my dear, are my only commenter. I prefer to believe that people just absorb what I write and are speechless at the end. It sounds better than no one reads my blog.
ReplyDeleteKut from the Kloth. I found them at Nordstrom last winter and they are the most comfortable jeans. I hate buying jeans so once I find a brand I like, I stick with them forever. Hence the worn out pair.
We go to Vegas every winter for a trade show and I have a great time, but I'm just not that into Vegas anymore because I've been there so much.
But today is your lucky day my friend. You are about to get Jen's tips for Vegas!
1. Wear comfortable shoes. I know, you're in Vegas and you want to look cute so start shopping for some Born, Dansko, Clarkes, whatever you think looks good, but doesn't wear all the skin off your feet because you will be walking about 400 miles.
2. Even though that casino down the way looks like it's close, it's not.
3. Stay in the middle of the strip. There are more things to see there. We've stayed at Luxor, Monte Carlo and Harrahs. Luxor was a long time ago and it was skanky. Monte Carlo is great, but not as close to the center as we would like. Harrah was new to us this year and we really liked it. The thing is, you don't spend that much time in your room anyway so as long as it's nice and clean and not astronomical in price, it's fine.
4. The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is nice.
5. The Lions at MGM are kind of neat to see. They just lie around though.
6. The volcano at The Mirage is every hour each night. It only lasts about 10 minutes.
7. The pirate fight at Treasure Island is neat.
8. The water fountain at Bellagio is cool. If you can get a table in the restaurant at the front of Paris, you can eat dinner and watch the water fountain at Bellagio. That was a nice surprise one year when we were there. Bellagio also has a beautiful botanical garden.
9. The gondola rides in The Canals in The Venetian are fun.
10. At least go window shopping at Aria.
11. And lastly, get ready to pay $3 for a bottle of water.
Have a great day Favorite Commenter!
