Gram's Journal Project - October 15 through October 31, 1972

They spent the 15th through the 22nd in Canada so there wasn't much writing other than weather.

Home from Canada - 3 geese and 16 ducks

Monday, October 23, 1972
The river is high.  Jim & Milt got 2 ducks

Milt was a friend of my Dad.  I think he was older than Dad, but younger than my Grandparents.  My only memories of him are that he tied flies and he once made us homemade ice cream in a bucket with a crank on it.

Tuesday, October 24, 1972 through Friday, October 27, 1972
They spent these days in Minneapolis.  I would imagine it was for business.  Grandpa was the head of Dairyland Electric Co-op.

Saturday, October 28, 1972
Finished winterizing the house.
4 mallards in the creek, 2 on the river.
Canadian ducks for supper.

Monday, October 30, 1972
Sprinkling of snow during the nite.
Jim & Milt hunting
Light snow starting at 8 a.m. Dark and gloomy day.  Lights on at 3:30 p.m.

I just noticed that this calendar has little quotes and helpful hints at the bottom of every page:

Everyone hath a fool in his sleeve.

HOW TO REMOVE STAINS (4)
Clear coffee and fruit stains: Stretch stained goods over a bowl and pour boiling water from a height.

I think I'm going to start doing these updates by the month.  This week-to-week thing is going too slow and she doesn't always have enough to say in a week that makes it worthwhile.
