Just like riding a bike...except my cheek hurts. Not my butt cheek.

So I went shooting yesterday.  It's the first time I've shot anything with a shotgun since July of last year and even that was only about 10 shots.

I found out I needed to fill in for my boss in a Sporting Clays Competition Thursday night at 4 p.m....and find someone else from my company to go too.  Because that's really easy in construction.  To get someone to drop everything on a Thursday night and go shooting on Friday.  Especially when the weather is nice and the guys are trying to get all the work done they can before it rains again.

With a little help, I found a guy and I'm glad I did because he had the highest score on our squad.  I was third on our squad with only 62 out of 100 but if you refer to my first paragraph, you'll see why I'm not disappointed in that score.  I just wanted to beat someone else on my squad and it turns out I beat two of them!  My cheek is a little sore this morning.  I really need to get back into shooting again.

Did you know that's how I met my husband?  We used to shoot in competition almost every weekend between February and October.  We shot thousands and thousands of targets in competition and practise.  He still does. I slacked off.

In other news, today is my friend's birthday and three of us went out last night to celebrate.  I actually got home later than our 19 year old daughter.  She posted about it on Facebook this morning.  That's how rare that is.

Anyhoo...after we had supper, Lori says "You want to see something really cute?"  and of course we say "YES!!!".  So we drove up by her house and found this little guy:
He's one week old, cute as a button, and full of it.

It took him a while to settle down once he saw us.  I took a few actions shots:

He looks like a flying pig in that last one.  Notice how Mama doesn't even flinch?
