Clover has no sense of personal space. Here she is last night "snuggling" with The Girl (that blob of red hair under her head). I do love to nap with her though. She usually has at least one paw just touching me and we can sleep contentedly for hours that way. Especially if (a) it's raining; (b) there is any football, golf, or some history on the television; and (c) The Brown eyed Man isn't home. Those are the best naps, when no one is home. I'm looking forward to one or two of those this weekend but first I have to get everyone to leave the house. It might not be easy.
Tonight, my Father-in-Law is spending the night. He and Brown eyed Man have been working on The Boy's truck all day while The Boy is at work. Both my Dad and my Father-in-Law would drop anything they were doing to come and help one of us with a broken vehicle. A broken anything for that matter. My Dad once drove non-stop from Oregon to Arizona to help my brother with car trouble.
I have no idea what is wrong with The Boy's truck this time. I believe that this is at least his 5th vehicle and he is only 22 and didn't start driving until he was 17 so that's an average of one vehicle per year. I think only one of them left us in working condition and I think I'm being generous when I say "working". Hopefully, they will have this whole thing buttoned up by the time I get home today.
Tomorrow is Smithsonian Magazine Museum Day. It's an annual event where, all across the country, museums will be open for free. You need to request a ticket though. Follow the link. Brown-eyed Man, his Dad, The Boy and The Girl are all going to visit the Antique Powerland Museum in Brooks, OR. I was kind of bummed to see that this was the only museum in our area to participate. Not that there is anything wrong with this place. I think it will be very interested...for them. I wanted the girls to go to a nice art museum or woollen mill museum or something, but it appears that we're all seizing this man-free day in our own way.
Let me just say that I once made the mistake of going to an air show with Brown eyed Man and his Dad and I thought I was going to kill myself before it was over. They look at EVERY DETAIL and discuss each detail in depth before moving on. I can make it through an air show in less than an hour. These two can't make it through the entire place in one day. Antique shows are just as bad. Anything with a mechanical parts is bad. Add to that the fact that both of them are deaf and you have two VERY LOUD guys discussing the minutiae of some tractor part. No thank you.
Somehow, they conned both kids into going with them tomorrow, which leaves me and my napping buddy all alone all day long. I have tons of work to do so I hope to knock that stuff out in the morning, watch some college football, and maybe make something new for supper. Big goals. I might take a walk down to the river too. If I feel like it.
