23 pounds

Clover just went to the Vet and it seems as though she has gained 7 pounds in the span of 3 weeks.  I hope we don't end up with one of those ginormous labs I hope I haven't gained 7 pounds in 3 weeks.

We went for her first hike the other day.  Not really a hike, more of a meandering through a field-like park not to far from the house.  I drive by this park every day and there is often a really really super extra creepy motor home parked there.  This was one of those days, but since I was legally packing I decided to brave it.  Besides, I had this massive puppy to protect me.

It was a nice place to go because there was no one around, except whomever happened to be inside that super creepy motor home, and Clover could run and play without being on the leash.  The leash is not her strong suit just yet.  She likes to get way out on the end of it and choke herself to the point of near unconsciousness and then come back to my side.
At this park, she could run as far out as she wanted and then bolt back to me at lightening speed.

Last week, she and I had a little road trip.  We spent one night at my parent's house up in The Dalles.  This picture makes it look like I was raised in a clown's house, but let me explain.  My parents live in a little Swiss-chalet type house and my bedroom was one of the two upstairs rooms.  When I was in high school I got the bright idea to paint the trim in my room this ridiculous shade of blue.  It went really well with the cork tiles and the popcorn ceiling with glitter in it.  By this time, my Shaun Cassidy and Scott Baio posters were gone and I was looking for a more sophisticated style.  For some reason, my parents went along with it.  Now, years later, my Dad has replaced the popcorn with a real ceiling and the cork is now Pergo flooring.  He is repainted the room a nice shade of yellow and the trim is white except for the door which is still a terrible shade of blue.
Add that super trendy bedspread to the room and you have...a clown bedroom.  With a 23 pound dog on the bed.  She is so serious in this picture.

Clover and my parents' dog, Belle played like wild dogs for two days. I had a meeting in Hood River so Dad brought Clover over to meet me afterward and I drove back to Portland where I spent the next night at my parents' condominium.  Yeah, they're rolling in houses.  Anyway, I think that after Dad dropped Clover off, she was awake for approximately 10 minutes of the rest of the evening.
So cute.  I think we'll start working on our own Clover calendar.

Now, for your reading pleasure - some things I like:
1. Pink shotgun shells.  I am so excited about these and I don't know why.  I probably won't ever shoot them because they're so cool and pink.  I bought a whole case.  Brown eyed Man wasn't as impressed as I was.

Nice list right?  I only like one thing today.
