Freaking Out in Slow Motion

So, I haven't taken my anxiety medication for about 6 days.  It all started out that I ran out on a weekend.  Then I forgot to call it in for two days.  Then I called it in and I was out of refills and the Doctor who had prescribed it told the pharmacy I wasn't his patient anymore (which is true).  Then the pharmacy called my regular Doctor and he takes Thursdays off.  I think today I might actually get the prescription re-filled.

The sides affects are disconcerting and entertaining all at the same time.  About 20 times a day, it feels like all of my teeth move at once and then quickly move right back into place.  If I turn my head quickly, instead of seeing a steady panorama, I see a series of slow motion snapshots.  When I'm walking on a flat surface, I occasionally feel like I just stepped off a step that was higher than I thought it was.

I haven't told the Brown Eyed Man that I was off the crazy pills because he would pester me and exacerbate the side affects.  Last night I broke down and told him.
BEM: How do you feel?
ME: Well, I guess I feel like...
BEM: ItchyTwitchyNervousCrankyOnEdge?
ME: Shut the ^&*%$# up for a second and let me answer the question.
BEM: Oh, so you really need to get that prescription re-filled.

For the last hour there has been a conversation going, just outside my office, regarding lunch and where it might come from.  It probably wasn't that big a deal, but the amount of time and talking needed to make that decision was driving me insane. I had to go outside and walk around for a while to settle down.  I NEED those pills.

A few weeks ago, The Girl and I drove up to The Dalles for a tea party with my Mom, her good friend and her daughters.  We brought Clover so she could hang with my Dad and the other dogs while we were drinking tea and eating cucumber sandwiches.  On the way home, Clover must have been feeling insecure or she decided that The Girl was sitting in her seat.  She climbed into The Girl's lab and rode there most of the way home.  This is a full-size lab thinking she's a lap dog.

  1. I resemble that post...in so many ways. Glad to meet you. I'll be back to read. Seems we are kindred spirits in more than one way.

We are searching for our new dog...but with my medical issues we can't decide which is harder for me to handle: training a puppy, or re-training a traumatized older dog. We have never done anything but a pound puppy...I've heard about the dogs trained by prisoners...but we don't have that kind of money with my medical bills...

Thanks for volunteering. We'll be in touch. Welcome to the challenge, and so nice to meet you.

P.S It's super easy to add if you do to design and "add a gadget" it will pop up as a choice and you just add, save, save arrangement, and then view blog to make sure it took. But we'll have tutorials with pictures and lengthy descriptions on the A-Z Blog as we get closer to the Challenge in April.

    1. Hi Tina, Thanks for the advice! It never occurred to me that people would follow me. I think I got it up there now so we'll see what I get. I really need to become a more regular poster.

I started following you through Google Reader last year during the challenge because I too felt some sort of connection to you. Funny.

Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate the comments and advice and I look forward to helping with the challenge if you need me.

  3. Follow by email is good...but you might also want to use the google friend connect follow so that people can see how many people follow you. They are more likely to click that and have their avatar on your page. And all the co-hosts up there (we follow everyone we visit) would be encouraging for more to click...just more unsolicited advice from a very bossy woman...as you'll soon find out. I picked you as my minion, but can't email you all the info. Please email me at tndowney at gmail dot com so I can send it to you. It's not too late to back out...just so you know.
