One of The Girl's friends got married on Sunday. It was a lovely ceremony. The Brown Eyed Man didn't want to go because he's just not that in to weddings so I went with another friend of The Girl. We had to get there early because The Girl forgot her shoes. So, here we are taking photos of ourselves. For some reason, I can't keep from bugging my eyes out when I have a picture taken. You can tell I'm even doing it here. I used to be normal.
Oh The Girl was pretty. Her escort was pretty darn good looking too, but I hear he's a senior in High School so she's not interested.
Look, I know I'm biased about The Girl and if you've read previous posts you can tell that there are certain social guidelines that I like to follow. Weddings and all that go into them are serious and I feel like the people involved need to take their roles seriously.
In addition, small details drive me insane. There was a table in the middle of the gazebo where they said their vows and the tablecloth was crooked.
It was all I could do to not walk up there and straighten it before the ceremony,
but I had to remind myself that I have nothing do to with this wedding.
It would be weird for me to do that.
Here is where things go slightly wrong:
I've removed the faces to protect identities. This isn't bad, but this girl had a HUGE tattoo of a heart in the middle of her back. A human heart. Note to future brides: If your bridesmaid has a massive tattoo on her back, try choosing a dress that might conceal it.
The Bride chose the dresses and the girls were allowed to choose their own silver shoes and jewelry. Note to future brides: Don't let your bridesmaids pick their own shoes or you might end up with one gladiator.
I guess it might be hard to remember that you're going to be wearing a strapless dress in the middle of summer and you might be in a few photos so you might try to minimize tan lines. The Girl seemed to forget this too as you'll see below.
Toms? Really? I love me the Tom's but seriously.
This bouquet was BEAUTIFUL. White hydrangeas and calla lilies. So pretty.
So was the bride. Just beautiful.
Do you want to hire me to photograph your next event?
As you can see I really know how to capture the moment.
Me, The Girl, and her tan lines.
Here is a quiz for you. In this photo, The Girl is saying:
(a) Hi Mom!
(b) Where is the Champagne bottle?
(c) Why do you constantly take my picture?
I guess the answer was (d) Come closer and I will smile for you.
The wedding really was lovely. The Bride and Groom are so in love and you could see that all throughout. Lots of people, great food, no long wait for the Bride & Groom to arrive. The Bride came over to our house last night and she was just beaming. So happy to be married and moving into their first apartment. Getting ready for their Hawaiian honeymoon.
I'm very happy for her. Now that my blood pressure has gone down.

In answer to your question, we got the dress for my sister in law at Dress Barn. You can gt it online as well.
ReplyDeleteI would have fixed that tablecloth. The tattoo could have been covered with special makeup. If they all wore Tom's it would be cute but I agree, a hodgepodge is tacky. Your daughter is stunning, ta lines and all!!
