Handmade Christmas = Homemade Crazy

In light of the current economic situation...Is anyone else getting tired of that phrase?  Can we just say "Since we don't have any money...".  Our current economic situation is that we have way less money than I want.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I need millions.  I wouldn't mind millions, but I don't have to HAVE millions.  I just want to be able to go shopping and not think twice about everything stinking thing I buy.

I want to go to the store and think "Hey, I'll buy that", instead of "Hey, I can make that".  Because my great ideas I have while out shopping are always greater than my desire to complete them when I get home.

I love making things, but I usually only love to make them once.  If I could get myself into making alot of something I might have a thriving business on my hands and maybe I wouldn't be on here complaining about not having enough money.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm making a quilt for the Boy.  On Wednesday night I started to lay the pieces out to see how the whole thing was going to look.  Since I had a variety of patterns, I wasn't entirely sure that I would use all of them and I might have to go buy more fabric.  I didn't want to buy any fabric, because right now I have no money invested in this little project. Unless you count the cutting mat and the rotary cutter, but I'm not going to count those so why should you?

I didn't have enough room to lay the whole thing out so I only did 15 rows (there are 31).  Why?  Because I am crazy.

It's looking 152% better than I thought it would.  Both Brown eyed Man and the Girl complimented me on it.  I'll try to post more photos as I go.  I have 6 rows sewn so far.  Just rows though, I haven't sewn the rows together yet.  I think I'll wait until they're all done before I do that in case I feel like I need to change anything.  With so many plaid patterns, I have to keep turning pieces so they match up both ways.  They aren't matched up in this picture.  Maybe I should have just done a crazy quilt.

In other news, Brown eyed Man has a website: www.shoottowingear.com and when I first set it up, I had a blog on there.  I decided that it wasn't very professional and it was more about me and what I was doing than about him and manly machiney things so I took it off, or so I thought.  The other day I got a comment from a guy who thought I should post some video of my weekly segment called "Things I saw Thursday".  I had a variety of thoughts about this:
1. Someone read my blog!
2. How did they find it?  I thought it was gone.
3. What kind of video is this guy talking about because I'm not that kind of girl.
4. Maybe I should start doing "Things I saw Thursday" on this blog.
So, that may be something you can look forward to.  I know you're dying to know what it's all about.  I haven't been travelling as much as I was this past summer, but I think I can make it work.  Tune in next Thursday to see!

J
